Closed Cycle Spray Dryer

WORKING PRINCIPLE

This type of spray dryer is operating in gaseous Nitrogen as an inert medium circulating in a closed cycle within all the equipment.

As the feed medium from the feed pump being atomized by the rotary atomizer or a nozzle which form fine droplet of liquid particles and further heat from the heater will vaporised the liquid droplets to vapor phase and product will be left as powder form in the cyclone separator.

The drying process can be adjusted by the temperature controller of the heater. The evaporation of the solvent to be recovered through the condensation unit.

The success of closed cycle spray drying washing and cooling operation requirements will be part of an accurate temperature control. For high boiling point of alcohol generally cooling water or salt water is employed whereas for the low boiling point solvents such as dichloromethane, hexane, and acetone, refrigeration cycle is incorporated in the design.

Flavoring material and health products.

Medicinal product, vitamin and organic medicines.

Synthetic resin and parafin wax.

In the field of carbide applications, all closed cycle spray dryers for production of carbides (hard metal powders) are pre-erected and pressure tested before shipment.
