The main purpose of utilities is to ensure all the selected equipment works accordingly based on its intended purpose.
The main components of utilities is normally employ one or more of the following:
- Air Compressor - to supply instruments air or for process operation purpose.
- Boiler - to supply steam as a heat source to the process operation or for process operation purpose.
- RO water - to supply clean water for the process operation or as a raw material for solution mixture.
- Electrical - to supply electricity to operate pumps, instruments, controllers, control panel and others.
- Thermal oil system - to supply heat source to the process operation.
- Cooling tower - to supply cooling water to transfer heat out from the plant operation.
